Job Description

Over the past years, the marketing team has mostly focused its efforts on merchant acquisition to create a successful lead generation machine to feed the sales team.

Historically, our endeavours in customer marketing have been largely untapped. This was mostly due to a need for more expertise and dedicated people to tackle the topic.

Today, as we look to address our merchant base with marketing activities, we are looking for a person who can take responsibility for this scope. We seek someone ready to build from the base ground up and scale the approach, thereby amplifying our overall marketing mix.

About the job

As a Customer Marketing Manager, you will be the customer expert, able to build a customer-centric approach (and actions) that encompasses customer needs and impacts all areas of Marketing.

Your main objective will be to drive long-term engagement and retention, nurture brand loyalty and help with opportunity generation and detection.

Reporting to the Product Marketing Lead, your main missions will be:

  • Develop a customer-centric approach: Develop expertise in customer knowledge, being able to understand how the customer journey impacts our Marketing and anticipate changes in behaviour. You will also be expected to share this knowledge to share this knowledge regularly with all stakeholders.
  • Craft marketing initiatives tailored to our customer lifecycle: Identify and execute relevant marketing campaigns and tactics for our merchants to strengthen relationships with our customers, drive engagement, help in their day-to-day business and drive revenue for Alma.
  • Boost merchant advocacy efforts: Develop our advocacy program to empower and incentivize our merchants to share their positive experiences, insights, and stories about our product & brand. You will also coordinate with other services to ensure the collection of reviews and ratings.
  • Build a delightful customer community: Help us build the adequate strategy, channels and programs to build a sense of community among our merchants and provide great experiences with our brand. You will design the bi-yearly merchant community event and explore other opportunities like customer advisory boards and Beta testing programs.

The main KPIs you will follow concern: Number of active advocates, Merchant engagement rate, Feature adoption level, merchant time to action.

Your role will be pivotal in working closely with various teams: Brand & Content Team and CRM Manager, Account Managers, Sales, and Operations team. You will also be in regular contact with our merchants.

About you

You would be a great fit for Alma and the team if:

  • You have 2 years of experience in product marketing and experience working with customers (Customer Marketing, Customer Success Manager, Sales, or Customer Support)
