We are looking for a passionate and experienced coffee agronomist who is an expert in soil biology and management to provide coffee farmers with insights into improving their coffee quality and profitability.
Location: South America (Remote)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of regenerative agriculture projects across multiple countries with a focus on coffee.
- Develop project plans and timelines, managing their execution to meet program objectives.
- Communicate program achievements, challenges, and lessons learned to improve decision-making and program performance.
- Lead technical meetings and workshops with the client’s team and external collaborators.
- Collaborate with the program’s technical team, composed of external agronomists, regenerative agriculture experts, and research organizations.
- Provide technical advice to clients on transitioning to regenerative agriculture, including trial design and monitoring agronomic results.
- Assist in measuring and reporting program data, including impact indicators (e.g., soil health improvement, reduction in fertilizer use, resilient soil systems, etc.).
- Share knowledge with internal teams and external partners to facilitate learning and replication of successful interventions.
- Design field trials for clients for product development and market positioning.
- Manage delivery of field trial results, driving insight, recommendations, and solutions in key agricultural markets with various industry players.
- Develop long-term R&D relationships with clients performing trials and analysis of their products and soils.
- Active use of internal analysis tools and excellent documentation skill with them.
- Passion for client interaction and partnering with Sales & Customer Success to deliver high-quality trials in key market segments.
Job Competencies & Personal Attributes:
- PhD or Master’s degree with industry and field experience in Plant Pathology, Soil Science or Genomics.
- Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, Soil Management, Genomics, or related fields, with industry and field experience. Alternatively, more than 5 years of experience in implementing regenerative agriculture, specifically in coffee.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with coffee cultivation.
- Proficient understanding of soil microbial agronomy and data analysis, including bioinformatics tools.
- Broad understanding and experience in agronomic field trial design and statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication and management skill.
- Strong proactivity and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, effectively managing multiple tasks.
- Fluent in Spanish (oral and written).
- Proficient in English.
- Portuguese is a plus.
