This role is for a senior leader (Head of Finance) of Glovo’s Uganda team, who will lead the Finance & Strategy team in Uganda and help in taking decisions that will shape the future of our business in the country and in the region

THE JOURNEY
- Lead the Finance Team in Uganda and help in taking decisions that will shape the future of our business in the country and the region
- GM right-hand in any finance & strategy topic
- Manage operational information, financial statements, and preparation of forecasts & budget
- Be involved in management control: definition of procedures, the design of budget processes
- Prepare & present monthly, quarterly/annual finance reports and analysis (P&L and cost-saving plans)
- Prepare analysis and justifications of actual data, forecasts, and deviations
- Study the viability of investments/projects - reports, strategic reorientation, etc.
- Assess new business opportunities and new vertical developments and changes
- Incubate and lead the launch of new projects in the Country
- Support & oversee if needed treasury/accounting
- Support in monitoring financial policies
- Support the preparation of Financial Statements
- Supervise the relationship with third parties: external auditors, administrations, external consultants
- Ad hoc analysis to provide the different managers with information for decision-making
- Actively collaborate with your colleagues and learn from each other in a supportive environment that allows you to grow, develop, and make a difference
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE
Experience & Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in total
- 5+ years of experience in Finance and/or Consulting
- Bachelor's degree in finance and/or business (MBAs/ACCA/CPA Certification would be an advantage)
- Knowledge of local accounting and tax standards (Local GAAP)

- 1-5 years of experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve collective goals
- Experience building and managing high-performance teams to achieve ambitious goals: strong organizational skills and delegation, ability to prioritize and multitask, work well under pressure, and handle multiple issues simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Business acumen:
- Proven track record of understanding and empathizing with colleagues’ / partners' challenges, and objectives to create strategies and deliver value through collaboration
- Stakeholder collaboration:
- External: Proven experience in working with external partners and governmental authorities to align on strategic initiatives and ensure seamless collaboration
- Internal: You’re an expert on managing stakeholders, working with peers, and leveraging other teams aspiring to do what’s best for the company
- Project management
- Highly organized and detail-oriented approach, you are able to maintain and deliver on time multiple projects simultaneously
- Other
- Excellent knowledge of Google Suite and MS Office, Excel
- Excellent written and spoken English language
